First Battle of Oituz (1916)(1916)
Background
As Bucharest fell under threat from Falkenhayn's western advance and Mackensen's drive through Dobruja, the Oituz–Trotuș axis was the last open corridor into Moldavia. Von Morgen's mission was to close this corridor and trap the bulk of the Romanian Army west of the Carpathians.
