Background
Romania was under enormous pressure after Bazargic's fall. Allied command had promised Russian reinforcements that arrived in insufficient numbers. Zaionchkovsky's authority over Romanian forces was disputed, undermining unified command at every tactical level.

The Battle
Allied counter-offensive against the Cobadin defensive line failed. Romanian-Russian forces could not break through Bulgarian fortifications defending the ridge overlooking Dobruja, and withdrew after a day of inconclusive fighting.
